invite you to participate in the following study conducted by researchers at the
University of South Alabama. Below you will find information about the study
and what to expect if you decide to participate. Please read the following
information in order to make an informed decision.
are eligible to participate in the study if you are at least 18 years old and
have access to a computer with Internet access
participation is voluntary, and you may refuse to participate or withdraw at
any time. You may also refuse to answer any question.
OF THE STUDY
explore the relationship between religiosity, attachment, male role norms,
pornography viewing, and psychological flexibility.
you decide to participate, you will be answering a series of short
questionnaires regarding your religious habits, your feelings in romantic
relationships, your thinking style, and your pornography viewing habits. We
expect the survey will take between 10 and 15 minutes to complete.
Upon completion of the survey you will be directed to
another survey where you can select to be included in a drawing of one-of-four
$25 visa gift cards. The likelihood of being chosen is dependent
on the number of participants, but it is expected that 500 will be completed. The drawing will be conducted at the
University of South Alabama in the presence of Ryon McDermott Ph.D. on

email if you have been selected.
answers on this survey will be completely anonymous.

as your habits regarding religion and pornography). You are under no obligation
to complete the survey or items that you feel are too uncomfortable.
you will not directly benefit from participation, you will be helping social
scientists better understand these complex relationships as they occur in
results of this study may be published in professional and/or scientific
journals. It may also be used for educational purposes or for professional
presentations. However, no individual subject will be identified and all
information will be reported as group averages.
